Curious Rabbit
Curious Rabbit is the product of my BSc course final year project. The primary goal was to create a short educational animation aimed at young children.
The set was designed in a way to create bright colourful scenery that is appealing to the audience. It's world consists of painted, cardboard and fabric materials. This arts and crafts aesthetic creates a familiarity that the audience can relate to and imagine touching. Similarly the robot character is built from cardboard boxes, screws, lightbulbs and a lolly stick.
Cue cards are used to display onomatopoeic words giving the audience a method of interacting with the actions as they happen.
The story of the animation sets up a relationship between a rabbit and a robot, it's underlying message is to teach the kids that others will treat you the same way you treat them.
I also recorded the soundtrack and (majority of) sound effects myself, making use of household items, a guitar and a microphone.
